Uses UPS

Who uses UPS anymore? My labels have been sitting in California since 9/3/22. Yes I understand the holiday. I live two states over. And they charge way more to use a faster shipper. I can't make my product until I receive my labels with my logo on it AND they edited part of my logo off which I'll have to use cause I paid for it. Find a cheaper and faster custom label maker on Etsy like I did and thank me later.

Years of Address & Filing Labels Gone

I used Avery labels at my former office and on my home Windows PC. I have hundreds of address labels set up on my current Win 10 PC: Family & business, holiday card labels, plus file labels. These have been added to, updated, and transferred from PC to PC since at least 2014. They have worked fine on my current PC until today, when I find that all the data has been completely separated from the matrix or table on all my files. The Avery web site offered no help, so I called. Their answer was: We don't make or update that old program anymore, and if it's stopped working for you, that's just too bad. Avery used to be a trustworthy company, and I've had no problems with their labels to date, but I will find a new way of doing my labels now, and will avoid Avery and its products in the future.

The 6464 Avery stickers are the worst ever... stay clear!

I've tried to use all kinds of pull off stickers for the books at my job. We send these books off with the sticker on but the just don't come off when I get the book back three weeks later. They became so bad that there was this sticky material left on every book when trying to remove the sticker. Avery is suppose to do only one thing, make stickers that work. I'm not sure how they're still in business becasue I've had over 500 books completely damaged just because of the 6464 stickers. I'm completely done now and moving on. Unless you want damaged material, stay clear of Avery!

Unbelievable Customer Service!

I had an error on my order that was completely my fault. They redid the order for me as a courtesy at non cost which they didn't have to do. They were so quick and efficient that I was stunned. I will be using Avery from now on for my business!! Thank you!!!

Avery wants YOU to pay for printing your own designed labels...

Avery back when it was created, was maintained and owned by Avery Dennison - Office Products. They had a great product and you could print your own personal labels at Home or Work. Avery Dennison created a tool called DesignPro & Avery Wizard that was amazing and WORKED!

Avery now, is NOT Avery Dennison from the past. They sold their Office Products back in 2013 to CCL Industries. If you look at the back of the current label packages, you will see Avery Products Corporation as the name.

You can tell they are more interested in making Huge profits over having quality products and services.

They want you to pay Avery Products to print your labels instead of you owning and maintaining your labels and label formatted files.

If you are lucky enough to still have the Avery DesginPro v5.5 software, keep it. You can still use under Windows 10,7, Vista, XP, 2000 or ME. If you use a 64bit system, need to modify the shortcut to make it work.
Under the Properties of DesignPro 5 icon, go to the Compatibility tab and make the following changes. Click the Box at the bottom called Change settings for all users (if you see this) and under Compatibility Mode click the Box and select Windows XP (Service Pack 3) option.
At the bottom make sure you click on Run the program as an administrator
Click Apply, then OK

The nice thing about Avery Dennison, they maintained their software with Template updates for new labels. If something was missing you could also call them and get the new spec's to create a new label model yourself. For example, Avery Blank Printable Tickets 16154 was not in DesignPro because it was made after 2013. The reps at the time in 2014 must have been former Avery Dennison reps because I was able to get the specs and add it to DesignPro software without any issue.

Avery now by CCL, could care less about what you use. I tried to call and I was told, sorry we do not provide label specs. You can use our Online Design and Print. I told them I prefer to keep my personal labels on MY system and they said, sorry but we no longer offer that.

I wish Avery Dennison buys back what they sold, but I know that will never happen. CCL industries is horrible with this product line they bought from the original Avery Dennison.

Avery (CCL) has gone down hill. Putting expiring dates on Packages, not keeping they 100% Satisfaction Guaranteed.

If you still have the installer for DesignPro, do yourself a favor and keep using it or install it. Stay away from sites online trying to offer you this installer. I see a lot of them are now infected.

I still use DesignPro today for Return Address labels, Shipping Labels and making gift tags for the Holidays. I can store my. Zdl files offline for safe keeping.

Please note: DesignPro had a few quirks especially with Labels and specific printers. If you tend to use several different printers, do yourself a favor and create a sub-folder for the Printer Model of the label you want to save. That way, you are not adjusting the offsets again or thinking something is wrong with the printer. For example, HP Photosmart 6520, Canon MF laser I have different folders and keep the. Zdl file specific to whatever I printed from.

I hope another company makes something similar to DesignPro that users are able to save their own works on whatever system they want and not keep something on Avery (CCL) website.

I am now staying away from new labels from Avery since they will Not provide the label spec's anymore so you can keep using an older program.

Avery (CCL) Design & Print is an epic fail! Even their older "offline" Design & Print - desktop would not print correctly. I remember having to adjust hundreds of times and wasting "test" paper sheets to make sure it matched up to the labels.

Shame on you CCL for making such an obvious attempt to get users to use your Printing services!

Avery.com never disappoints!

I will always be loyal to Avery because they always impress. Their website is so easy to use. They are so versatile: I have purchased labels from Amazon and Walmart. Then I have used this site to beautify up labels. Recently I purchased labels and had them print the labels for me. Reasonably priced. Consistent first class produces. Website easy to use even for me!!

I have ordered my Wine from Avery's for many years

I have ordered my Wine from Avery's for over 16 years. I have yet to be disapointed in the selection of any of the wines chosen by the sales staff. Whether new world or old established favourites Adam has steered me towards some wonderful wines.

Changed the labels

The labels used to be good. They changed them and now they smudge and are hard to get off the sheet. Horrible. They don't listen to consumers. I want an alternative to Avery.

Avery 8 Big Tab Insertable Pocket…

Avery 8 Big Tab Insertable Pocket Plastic Dividers for 3-ring binders are terrible. The former plastic dividers were much sturdier, but these new ones are flimsy and useless.

Answer This Question

Q:

Why is the Avery online design tool garbage?

A:

I think part of the issue is that Avery Dennison sold off their Labels and Software to CCL in 2016. I luckily still have an older system that uses Windows 7 and Design Pro 5.5 software and I can print most labels the way I want them. The Design and Print software is garbage compared to the older now retired Design Pro 5.5. I have a feeling that Avery (from CCL) is trying to get users to pay to print via their service instead of having a capable program that users can print at home or at work. Even the Design and Print is going away from the "offline" version and going with Online only... I will NEVER go with an Online version ever period! Your better bet unfortunately is to download a template for either Word or Photoshop and print from there if you have a system that is not compatible with Design Pro. Design Pro was created by Avery Dennison and not CCL industries
